Mantis class heavy hauler

mantis“I see you’re staring at those gimbal arms. Yuk all you want, but those arms mean that this big boat can dance somethin’ fierce, especially in tight quarters. Sure, point A to B will take a little longer, but don’t let her girth fool you — she’s nimble. Add the removable rear cargo pod — for a nominal fee, of course — and the ship will recoup the costs with milk runs in no time.”

Note: I’m missing Cortex System stats on this. Why not add some below, and I’ll put them into the files?

Greatest ship ever built, hands down.

  2. Marcus says:

Cortex Stats? I could try some.

    Agility: d10
    Strength d8
    Vitality: D6
    Alertness D4
    Intelligence D6
    Will Power: D6

    Speed class 4 Burn:6

    that’s a start, I suppose.

  3. Marcus says:

Also what programs did people use to make these models?

  4. Black Pants Guy says:

Indeed, would someone care to answer Marcus’ question?

  5. Josh says:

Sure. A lot of these ships were rendered in a program called Doga L3 — a freeware/shareware modular 3D program. I haven’t tried it myself, and support for it is fairly limited.

However, it seems to be a nice entry into the 3D world for people not ready to go hardcore with tools like Blender.

I threw a reaverized version of one of these at my crew once. It was like fighting the proverbial red dragon.
